Anzietta DiPierro

The Adorned Lady

Picture
Handmade Porcelain Owls
Anzietta DiPierro enjoys studio-time working in assemblage art, metals, glass, clay, and a variety of painting mediums when time allows.  She teaches visual arts  at Lakeside High School and has taken the slogan, “once a dragon always a dragon” as her high school mascot comes back into play.  She is one of the ceramics instructors at the Ashtabula arts center and is developing a ceramics program at LHS.
Anzietta utilizes her Masters degree (Walden University,MD) in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment in everyday cross curricular instruction as well as continuing education credits (Dominican University of California) to organize and keep current with a battery of requirements for local/state/federal educational protocols.
Her current work is a reflection of a lifetime of learning.  She found a love for clay while working toward a BFA (Edinboro University of PA) and earned a BS in education that would be utilized after many years of travel and apprenticing with artisans across the u.s. in many mediums.
As an advocate of the arts, she incorporates her daily living, reflective notions, sacred spaces, emotional bonds, and a love of theology and of the earth to project her “self” in a series of “protective Ravens” that show her studies of saints and currently, Hindu goddesses.
As a teacher first, it is her belief that a well-rounded student who can create questions, not just answers, will be successful in finding a fulfilling career and be a catalyst for improvements within themselves an ultimately the communities in which they live.

"Blue Randybird with Butterflies" acrylic painting, $2,200.00 and Greeting Cards, $3.50 each
"As a student at the Cleveland Institute of Art, I was encouraged to express my own artistic visions by my teacher, Mr. H. Carol Cassill. He gave me the support, wisdom, and ethical guidance which created an atmosphere of complete artistic freedom necessary to develop a completely personal style. It was here that my artistic journey of self-searching and discovery began.
Nature has always been a fundamental source of inspiration for work. From nature comes spirituality and an inner emotional vision. My favorite subjects are the things I love from the natural world: People, animals, birds and spiritual visions of yearning. My work is intuitive and spontaneously done. My inner spirit dictates and guides my brush and pen, choosing my color and form. As executor, my work is a spiritual and emotional experience for me- an intense revealing of inner reflection, universal as a river, which flows from executor to spectator.
When I create, I take a journey deep into the recesses of my innermost being. The creation takes shape in color, form, rhythm, and movement. I am then able to visualize what had previously been invisible and undiscovered.
In relating to our fellow human beings, so much of our total reality lies hidden and masked. Through the act of creating, the barriers which hide my most vulnerable self are dropped. I may totally share with the viewer my deepest ideas, visions and fantasies in relation to the world I live in, the time I live in, the ideas I come in contact with, the questions I ask, and the love that I give and receive."

Brigitte Fiorille

Ceramics artist

Ceramic dishes and bowls, $12.00 each
"Ceramics is my primary field of art as I am tuned into its innate relationship with the earth. I have a respect for its stability of existence. My creative styles are diverse, ranging from functional to sculptural. I find myself creating work in small series, but many pieces come out as "one-of-a-kind". It is a balance between exploring an idea or technique and allowing items to come as they do singularly. There is a moment of content joy when I hold each piece as dry, unfired greenware. It is fragile and beautiful in this state. Into the kiln it goes, and out comes ceramic. I see glaze on ceramics as actors on a stage."
Brigitte has always considered art as a true part of her life. Beginning with memorable early experiences, it has followed her on a lifelong path. Art has been a guiding force to the development of her personal life and career. She enjoys teaching classes in Ceramics, Children's Art, and independent events along with her current role as Art Director at Fairmount Center for the Arts.

My family likes to travel a lot and everywhere we go I try to find stuff to use for making jewelry. I named my company after all my pets. We have dogs, cats, parrots, lizards, and snakes."

Lisa Alfidi-Lockemer

Oil Painter

Picture
"Laughing Sunflower" Oil on canvas. $325.00
"I have always loved how the shapes and colors of Mother Nature's personality are so deliciously teased together to provide me the most magical palette of inspiration! I have been blessed with eyes to see the glorious designs and vivacious colors in the world and just want to paint, paint, paint!
Living in the South and along the Seashore allows a sparkling palette of opportunity to paint landscapes where I transfer my love of nature, coastal life and flowers into art using the impasto style of painting. I prefer the fluidity of oil paint as my medium and find it exotic enough to let me musically express my emotions in a medlet of visual and physical interpretation. Laying down paint with palette knives in some areas and brushes in others, allows me to blend and apply many colors in layers. Finally, working with a palette knife, I stoke and draw the heavy paint into a visual flow of movement. This particular style provides the texture which prompts the paint and colors to prance right off the canvas! Life is good, let us embrace and share it!"

"Clustered Droplets" 11" x 14" $125.00

Painter

"Art is emotive. My art  -- in my paintings, illustrations and writing -- is instinctively so. Choices of word or hue flow from my feelings, memories, musings, impulses, whatever I feel best serves the work. Largely self-taught, with prompts from some very talented friends and inspiration from lovely images, I paint through this emotional filter.
My choice of subject matter unerringly flows through the same filter. I have a fascination with faces and natural elements, primarily water. I especially love capturing the expressions of young children and animals, which are often more transparent that those of adults, though I also enjoy painting the mature face. With regard to water elements, my many years of living on a lakefront has certainly been inspiring. Interpreting a face or reproducing the qualities of water drops or mists on canvas is a satisfaction I’ve only recently discovered, a late-in-life joy. Lastly, I certainly won’t deny the humorous tone I employ in my writing, having published two books based on a humor column I wrote for fifteen years. It only follows that my paintings and illustrations are often informed by the snicker that always lurks below my surface."

"I love using my imagination and lots of textures to create unique pieces, and I love to make you feel like your traveling the world or through space when you gaze at my art. My technique is very special and unique to me, I have spent the past few years experimenting and expanding my application. Newer pieces appear to mimic pour art, but they are actually painted layer by layer by my hand."

Xyl Lasersohn

Painter

“I create paintings that draw attention to separation and the resulting iterations and copies created from the act of separating. This effect is achieved through shifts in style, structure, and texture.  Through these separations I hope to create uncanny, humorous, and contradictory relationships between the objects and the landscapes they reside within. This is done in order to create problems within the painting. The problem implies that there are criteria for success and failure, with the painting posing problems to the viewer through the contradictions presented.  The landscape and objects are purposefully equivocal in the sense that there are multiple interpretations which are all equally valid, thus depriving the viewer of any concrete conclusion. Within the paintings there are attempts to recreate something and a resulting failure to do so. Objects are constantly repeating within the landscapes, deprived of their intended function. The landscapes themselves are fragmented, shifting between flatness and receding areas of space. The buildup of paint occurring only through the sheer number of layers applied, implying something has been covered up."
